Compared to every other password manager out there, it is by far the best. It allows for the most and best organization tools, and the auto fill functionality by and large is superb.
My biggest complaint is the way they handle versioning. For years 1Password required an app and an extension, then they launched 1Password X which runs entirely in the browser, then they renamed 1Password X to 1Password I would love a simple experience. Apps and extensions? Apps only? Extensions only? I don't really care, I simply want it to be the same or at least clearly outlined what I need to do when it changes. I love using 1Password to manage ALL my passwords and credit cards.
Specifically the integration with 1Password for Mac, the Safari 1Password experience is smooth. Tap Scan Setup Code. Find your Setup Code , then follow the onscreen instructions to scan it. Enter your Master Password and tap Done.
Get 1Password for Windows , install it, and open the app. Get 1Password for Android and open the app. In the box where you need to add your new password, you can click a LastPass icon to generate a new one. Then, from that pop up, which keeps you on the original webpage, you can ADJUST what it will generate by length and features. On the other hand, 1password's link auto-generates a password, but it's always a crappy one. Short, like 8 characters, with few numbers or special characters, and always with a pronounceable segment.
If you want to create a stronger password, you need to open the app, create a login for this new page, then generate a new password. Here, you can adjust the generation so it meets the needed features.
However, it is difficult to copy the generated password, so you can bring it back to the website and paste it. In order to copy the generated password, you have to save it as a login. This is an extra step. Given that it often takes multiple attempts to create an adequate password, all these extra steps are a pain. I much prefer the lastpass method. A safe haven for your passwords, account information, or just any valuable information for that matter.
One of the great features of 1Password is that it can generate passwords for you if you so choose. You can set it up to where you can have 25 characters total with numbers and uppercase letters thrown into the mix 25 not being the max but you get the idea! Absolutely a MUST have app for your phone if you have multiple online accounts. Tap on that password for the account you were just trying to access - COPY then bam!
Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation and sign in to your 1Password account. You can also move your data using 1Password 7. Open and unlock 1Password 7. Select the account you want to migrate to, then click Continue. Confirm the number of items, attachments, and tags to be migrated, then click Move Data. Then remove them and try again.
